Well I am awake, kinda, and getting ready for work. I spent all day yesterday painting the mailbox and digging out the front sidewalk. Back breaking and dirty, I loved it. It looks better and people actully walked down my part of the sidewalk yesterday, I was pleased with myself. I however found that I must live around a lot of people of all ages that do not work. Several people stopped and talked to me and more then once people drove by and waved. ( A lot of people also just staired at me like they had never seena girl working before.) The reason I think this is so funny is that people were cheering me on. "Good Job!!" "That looks great!" But I also wonder if they were just being nice or were they being nosey, I haven't figured that out just yet.
Now a painted mailbox is a hit with my neighborhood. No I did nothing special with it, I took a raddle can to it in navy blue and I need another coat of paint on it. People are going to shit when we start on the outside of the house. Of course a few things are going to have to go from the back, note earlier blog, to make a bigger improvement. I plan on planting flowers and landscape.
I can't wait to start on the yard but since it is March I'm not holding my breath that it will not snow again.
See the guy that lived here was 80 and before he got that old he was a tucker so you can just picture what this yard looks like. I think he knocked down the weeds maybe once or twice a month and called it good. The smart people at the bank must have put in the fence because the fence is set upon soft dirt. Thankfully my boys don't dig because they could get out in a flash with little work. Plus the middle of the yard has rolling sandhills. The neighbors next to me are not much better when it comes to yard work. But that is okey, in a few months their house will look like shit and my house will look great. I hope anyway.
